1. Typical Program Dates

  • Drawings & Design: 3 weeks

  • Fabrication: 4–6 weeks

  • Site Installation: 1–3 weeks

2. Insurance

Standard insurance includes:

  • £5,000,000 Public & Product Liability

  • £10,000,000 Employers Liability

  • £2,000,000 Professional Indemnity

Additional coverage will incur extra cost.

3. Orders

All orders are accepted under these Terms & Conditions, which override any Client terms unless agreed in writing.

The Customer must clearly specify all requirements when placing an order.

If the Customer does not request detailed confirmation of Ovoms’ interpretation, the delivered product is deemed accepted.

4. Cancellation

Orders can only be cancelled without charge if no survey, design, drawing work, or material procurement has begun.

Work done before cancellation will be charged.

Cancellation is not permitted once the order is substantially completed.

5. Site Survey

  • Customer or representative must be present.

  • A 1-metre datum line must be marked on each floor.

  • Survey area must be accessible and hazard-free.

  • Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice.

6. Quotation Terms

Quotations are valid for 90 days.

Additional costs caused by delays, waiting time, overtime, or extra visits will be charged.

7. Deliveries & Installations

  • Dates are approximations; Ovoms is not liable for delays.

  • Customer must inspect goods upon completion.

  • Acceptance is confirmed by signing the Handover Certificate.

  • Ovoms may trim walls, ceilings, or floors to complete installation (making-good not included unless stated).

8. Before Installation

Customer must ensure:

  • Parking is available

  • Scaffolding or towers are provided if required

  • Floors/furniture are protected

  • No exposed wires or pipes are left in place

  • Children and pets are kept away

  • Tools and equipment can be used safely

  • Outdoor cutting area is available where possible

Failure to meet conditions may cause delay or labour charges.

9. Templates and Samples

9.1 Templates

Customer must provide accurate and durable templates.

Templates are returned only upon request and may incur a charge.

9.2 Samples

Natural variations in materials (wood grain, colour, tone) are expected and not considered defects.

10. Tolerances

10.1 Glass

Industry tolerance: ± half the glass thickness, up to ±6mm.

Inspection must be done:

  • At 2m (standard glass)

  • At 3m (toughened/laminated/coated glass)

  • In natural daylight

    Minor blemishes inherent to glass production are not defects.

10.2 Wood

Natural variations (knots, sapwood, grain changes, medullary rays) are normal.

Warranty covers workmanship defects for 12 months.

10.3 Stain & Paint

Stain colours vary naturally based on wood undertones.

Hand-applied effects and unique variations are expected.

10.4 Wood Varieties

Different species result in unique grain and tone differences.

11. Pricing, Payment & Additional Charges

  • Prices are net of discounts and subject to VAT.

  • Late payment triggers interest at 8% + base rate.

  • Delivery-only orders require full payment before dispatch.

  • Storage fees apply if Customer delays delivery or installation.

  • Customer is responsible for stored goods at their site.

  • Four weeks’ notice is required to reschedule installation.

12. Property & Risk

  • Risk passes at delivery.

  • Ownership passes only after full payment.

  • Ovoms may recover goods if unpaid.

  • Customer must notify Ovoms of insolvency events.

13. Liability

Liability is limited to repair or replacement of defective workmanship.

Ovoms is not liable for consequential or indirect losses.

Ovoms is not responsible for third-party contractor costs.

14. General Warranty

Goods conform to specifications at installation.

Warranty excludes:

  • Customer-provided designs/materials

  • Wear and tear, misuse, improper installation

  • Non-payment

  • Failure to follow instructions

    Claims must be made within 3 days of installation.

15. Warranty Exclusions

Warranty is void if damage results from:

  • Moisture

  • Subfloor issues

  • Improper maintenance

  • Accidents or abuse

  • Stiletto heel pressure

  • Consequential damages

    Ovoms may update products without liability to replace older versions.

16. Conflict

Ovoms’ Terms & Conditions take precedence.

Customer must hold funds in trust if required.

Governing law: English Law.

Customer indemnifies Ovoms for legal costs enforcing these terms.

17. Photography & Marketing Rights

Ovoms may photograph or film completed projects for marketing purposes (website, social media, print).

No personal or sensitive details will be shown.

Permission is granted automatically without compensation.

18. Work on Existing Staircases & Removals

  • Ovoms only performs work specified in the order.

  • No drilling into marble or delicate materials.

  • Removal of old staircases not included unless stated.

  • Delays caused by unprepared sites may incur charges.

  • Ovoms is not liable for damage outside the installation scope.
